Curriculum Vitae

This CV is based on information provided to the EIB by the person concerned.

Barbara Levéel joined the EIB in 2023 as Director General of Human Resources.

She had previously built her career at BNP Paribas, spending over 20 years at the company. She joined BNP Paribas’ Argentina local office in 2002, and over the years took different positions related to banking operations, internal audit and procurement. In 2014, she was appointed Global Head of Diversity and HR Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2018, she took on the role of Head of Human Resources for Global Markets and Financial Institutions Coverage within Corporate and Institutional Banking, based in London.

Barbara has a master’s degree in Business Administration from ESCP Business School, and a Philosophy and Sociology degree from Sorbonne University. She also completed an Economics degree in Latin-American Studies, before undertaking humanitarian work in the region.
