Romanian firms as likely as others in EU to tackle impacts of weather and reduce carbon emissions, EIB Investment Survey shows
Most Romanian firms – 90% – have acted to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in line with companies elsewhere in Europe, according to a European Investment Bank (EIB) Group survey. Companies in Romania have taken steps such as curbing waste, recycling, saving energy and embracing cleaner technologies, new country results from the EIB Group Investment Survey (EIBIS) show.
NXP secures €1 billion EIB loan to advance semiconductor innovation in Europe
NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ: NXPI) today announced that it has secured a €1 billion loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to advance the company’s RDI investments across its broad portfolio of semiconductor solutions. The €1 billion loan facility carries an approximate interest rate of 4.75 percent when drawn in dollar denominated tranches, under the current market conditions and has a duration of six years. The financing will support NXP’s research and development efforts in several EU Member States, implemented in its facilities in Austria, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Romania for the period up to 2026.
European household appliance maker Electrolux Group gets €200 million EIB loan for greener goods
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending €200 million to Sweden-based Electrolux Group, a leading manufacturer of household appliances, to forge a range of more environmentally friendly consumer goods. Electrolux Group will use the EIB credit for green-focused research, development and innovation (RDI) activities in Italy, Sweden, Germany, Poland, and Romania.
