The Conference
European Investment Bank President Werner Hoyer, in cooperation with Luxembourg’s Presidency of the European Union, will be hosting the EIB Africa Day. On this occasion, the Bank is honoured to be welcoming Phil Hogan, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Romain Schneider, Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid, Luxembourg and Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank.
Background Information
Where are the opportunities in Africa? Where is investment needed to allow the continent to thrive? Which are the best courses of action to promote sustainable growth and job creation? How can Development Finance Institutions support private sector players and mobilise the funds and instruments to benefit Africa’s economic evolution? These are some of the questions we will be addressing over the course of two plenary sessions and three breakout panel discussions.
High level speakers from Europe as well as Africa will share with us their experience of doing business on the continent, across several sectors and from various backgrounds. By participating, you will have the opportunity for networking, learning and sharing.
With the kind cooperation of the EU-Africa Chamber of Commerce and the Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft.
