Near cloudless Saharan skies lend themselves to solar power generation. EIB funding will help the construction of a major complex in Ouarzazate in southern Morocco, which should be generating up to 160MW. This capacity could quadruple once the project reaches maturity; enough to power a city of 250 000 inhabitants.
