EIB and World Bank join forces with new agreement to support Ukraine |
| EIB President Werner Hoyer and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim have signed an agreement that aims to facilitate the purchase of gas by Ukraine’s national gas company, NJSC Naftogaz. Facilitated by a counter-guarantee of the European Union, the EIB will guarantee up to USD 520 million of selected World Bank loans in Ukraine to this end. |

EIB supports Fabege’s construction of near-zero-energy-buildings |
| The EIB has provided a EUR 100m long-term loan to Swedish property company Fabege for the development of two large office buildings with a superior environmental performance. These will be located in Solna (Arenastaden), a former industrial area that is being transformed into a modern and sustainable district. |

EIB supports research and development in Poland with almost EUR 1 billion |
| President Werner Hoyer and Polish Minister of Finance Mateusz Szczurek have signed two loan agreements to foster research, development and innovation activities in Poland. The loans will help to maintain the 150 000 jobs in the Polish public R&D sector and will open up many new career opportunities, in particular for young researchers. |
