On 20 June 2016, Ms Rasa BUDBERGYTĖ was appointed as Minister of Finance by the Lithuanian President Dalia GRYBAUSKAITE. She also becomes EIB Governor for the Republic of Lithuania, succeeding Mr ŠADŽIUS.
Prior to her appointment, Ms BUDBERGYTĖ worked as a Member of the European Court of Auditors from 2010 to 2016. Between 2005 and 2010, she served as Auditor General for the National Audit Office of the Republic of Lithuania between 2005 and 2010.
From June 2002 to February 2005, Ms BUDBERGYTĖ worked in the Ministry of the Interior as Undersecretary and from July 2001 to June 2002 as Deputy Undersecretary.
Ms BUDBERGYTĖ has held several positions in the Ministry of Justice including Vice-Minister from September 1998 to December 2000.
From October 1995 to January 1997, Ms BUDBERGYTĖ was Legal Advisor in the Joint Stock Company Lelija.
Between January and April 1993, she served as Advisor to the Prime Minister in the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. From April 1992 to January 1993, she was Advisor for the Legal Affairs and Agreements Division in the Ministry of International Economic Relations.
Ms BUDBERGYTĖ held several positions at the Ministry of Social Security between 1985 and 1992 and worked as Academic assistant in the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University between September 1997 to February 2005.
Born in 1960, Ms BUDBERGYTĖ holds a degree of Lawyer Civil Law from the Vilnius University.
