Equity investment fund targeting the smaller end of the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) segment in sub-Saharan Africa
Objectives
The fund's investment strategy is focusing on the smaller end of the SME segment with funding needs of EUR 0.3-3m primarily in francophone Africa and the Indian Ocean. The fund will be generalist in terms of target sectors, emphasising sectors addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (e.g. health, renewable energy, financial inclusion etc.). Investments will mainly target SMEs in their expansion stage, and, to a lesser extent, in start-ups.

The operation is proposed for the sub-window "Social Impact Funds" under the Impact Financing Envelope (IFE).
