EIB continues to cooperate constructively with Saab and the Swedish authorities in the current circumstances. The Bank is hopeful that a solution will be found acceptable to all parties also opening the way for the entry of new investors into Saab.
We can confirm that since the beginning of the negotiations on the Saab R&D project, the EIB informed the Swedish authorities that the loan would only be considered on the basis of an ownership structure of Saab acceptable to the EIB.
The EIB has stringent policies in place for financing projects.
It is open to the borrower to fully reimburse the loan to the EIB at any time and make other financing arrangements.
