We collaborate with the government and partners to advance Luxembourg’s economic and climate priorities. Our financing has supported satellite programmes, new schools, local businesses, energy transition, and sustainable transport.

We have pioneered green bonds, contributed to restoring the Alzette river and mobilised investments for the Luxembourg-EIB Climate Finance Platform, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and long-term development.

President Calviño completes tour of 27 EU capitals

Over the past 12 months the president of the European Investment Bank Group, Nadia Calviño has travelled across the European Union, from Stockholm to Nicosia, Vilnius to Valletta, Madrid to Zagreb, listening to the views of finance ministers, prime ministers and presidents, engaging with partners, gaining insights into current projects financed by the European Union and giving shape to the EIB Group’s 8 strategic priorities.

Luxembourg and the EIB

We have worked in Luxembourg since 1959, helping complete many major infrastructure projects. We invested in thousands of companies and projects, from start-ups to SES’s new satellites programme. This investment will produce three fully digital satellites that will deliver advanced broadcast and broadband services spanning Western Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
