Description
A joint report by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and European Patent Office (EPO) shows that 22% of clean and sustainable technologies developed globally comes from the European Union. EU cleantech innovation focuses on low-carbon energy, clean mobility and alternatives to plastic. While 29% of EU clean-tech firms target national markets, 61% aim to expand within the EU single market, which they see as crucial for future growth. While the European Union is quite innovative in cleantech, there is a funding gap compared to their US peers.
