Ireland: SBCI and EIB partnership to enable €560 million new lending to SMEs

The Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) CEO, June Butler, and the Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Ioannis Tsakiris, have today formally signed a €200 million funding agreement as part of ongoing efforts to enhance financing options for Irish businesses. Marjut Falkstedt Chief Executive of the European Investment Fund (EIF) also attended the signature at SBCI headquarters in Dublin.

Irish companies optimistic about business environment, EIB Investment Survey shows

Companies in Ireland are optimistic about the business outlook after they moved to limit supply-chain risks and investments in the country returned to pre-pandemic levels, according to a European Investment Bank (EIB) Group survey. Still, almost nine in 10 Irish exporters say regulatory fragmentation in the European Union is a burden, new country results from the EIB Group Investment Survey (EIBIS) show.

The majority of Irish respondents consider climate adaptation a national priority, EIB survey shows

More than two-thirds of people in Ireland recognise the need to adapt their lifestyle due to the effects of climate change, according to the annual Climate Survey commissioned by the European Investment Bank (EIB). Many believe that investing in adaptation now will prevent higher costs in the future.
