On Tuesday 8 July the EIB Group hosted at its premises in Luxembourg an interactive seminar on the new generation of InnovFin financial products and advisory services.
The seminar consisted of concise product presentations followed by a roundtable discussion with representatives from the local business community (Chamber of Commerce, Business Federation Luxembourg (Fedil) and BGL) as well as feedback from a Belgian company EVS, a recipient of the InnovFin Midcap Growth Finance instrument. The event was open to CEOs or CFOs of innovative midcap companies in the automotive, ICT, biotech and industrial sectors, as well as those of financial intermediaries, financial advisory organisations and industry associations.
Speakers included EIB Vice-President Pim van Ballekom and Mario Grotz, Director General for Research, Intellectual Property and New Technologies at Luxembourg’s Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade.
Both the EU and the EIB Group intend to more than double their combined support for research and innovation in Europe over the next seven years. More than EUR 24bn will be made available and the seminar highlighted the financing opportunities and the extensive range of support available to businesses in Luxembourg and its surroundings.
Tuesday’s event was the first in the InnovFin roadshow, with monthly awareness-raising events planned to take place in Member States and Horizon 2020 associated countries over the next two and a half years.
