On Thursday, 5 February, the European Investment Bank and the Bank of Slovenia have organised a high-level workshop on "Promoting lending: The role of securitization, guarantee products and other instruments providing capital relief".

The Governor of the Bank of Slovenia, Boštjan Jazbec, and Chief Economist of the EIB, Debora Revoltella, delivered opening speeches and were followed by presentations and panel discussions on the role of securitisation, guarantee products and other instruments providing capital relief. Apart from the experts of the Bank of Slovenia and EIB delegates, participants in the workshop comprised high level officials and experts from the Slovenian banking and insurance sector, the Slovenian Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, the Representation of the European Commission in Slovenia, the Securities Market Agency, the Insurance Supervision Agency, the Stock Exchange, KDD - Central Securities Clearing Corporation, the Slovenian Banking Association, as well as major Slovenian companies listed on the stock exchange, auditing and brokerage companies.

The event was an excellent opportunity to promote international best practices with innovative financial instruments in the country, to reconfirm the strong involvement of the EIB Group in Slovenia and to promote new EIF products.
