The European Investment Bank (EIB), in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania, is organising a Seminar on Financing Growth in Lithuania: New Financing Instruments from the EIB.

The opening session featuring Rimantas Šadžius, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania and Eva Srejber, Vice-President of the EIB, is followed by two workshops. The first is a more general workshop on the EIB’s activities in Lithuania and the Baltic Sea region, focusing on the financing of investment in growth and the shift to a knowledge-based economy. It addresses issues for both public and private sector promoters interested in investing in a wide range of sectors.

The second more specific workshop provides an overview of how to finance RDI with EU grants under Framework Programme 7 (FP7) and the Risk Sharing Finance Facility (RSFF), an innovative debt based finance instrument set up by the EIB and the European Commission (EC). It focuses on key challenges faced by corporates, banks, public agencies and other stakeholders in the financing of Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) and technology transfer projects.

The EIB is currently organising similar seminars throughout the whole of Europe.
