The European Investment Bank (EIB) is making its historical documents available to the public - especially researchers - as part of its transparency and public access to archives policy.
The European University Institute (EUI) has undertaken to provide user-friendly access to the EIB's archives during normal working hours.
The EIB recently concluded an agreement with the EUI with a view to implementing its new policy. The aim of this agreement is to create a system for depositing, processing and making available to the public the Bank's historical archives.
Specifically, after the EIB has evaluated their interest, documents will be transferred to the EUI, which will store, process and - in particular - make them available to the public in line with procedures agreed by the two partners.
An inventory of the files and documents processed will be regularly updated.
