The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) will benefit from €125 million in European Investment Bank (EIB) loans to build affordable student housing and upgrade campus facilities in the cities of Paphos and Limassol. The EIB funds will ensure that the planned student lodgings are sustainable and affordable and that academic, research and sports facilities meet the highest teaching and environmental standards.
Lending in Cyprus last year by the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group rose to €257 million, up 3% compared with 2022. The new financing went towards increasing economic competitiveness, mitigating climate change, and improving everyday life for residents.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced a total of €230 million in financing support for two vital projects in Cyprus, a €100 million loan for wastewater management investments in three major cities, and a 130 million loan for multi-sector “smart investments”.
