One World Media announced the longlist of selected stories for all its 15 award categories, including the Women’s solutions reporting award, supported by the European Investment Bank.
Each year, the One World Media Awards celebrate the best journalism and documentary making from across the global south. This year, more than 500 stories were submitted, from 117 countries from as far afield as Barbados, Cook Islands, Curaçao, Marshall Islands and Tuvalu.
Journalists and filmmakers from around the world shared their greatest human stories that break through stereotypes, change narratives and connect people across cultures. The immense quality of the entries made it tough for the judges to choose only ten in each category.
