Further to recent changes within the Romanian Government, Ms Anca Dana Dragu was appointed Minister of Public Finance. She also becomes EIB Governor for Romania, succeeding Mr Teodorovici.
Prior to her appointment, Ms DRAGU was an economist in the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission since 2013. Between 1996 and 2001, she served as an economist in the National Bank of Romania and since 2001 at the IMF’s Bucharest Bureau.
Furthermore, she has been a member of the Romanian Financial and Banking Analysts' Association since 2008.
Ms Dragu graduated from the Finance-Banks Faculty of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and completed a master's degree in Public Policies and European Institutions at the Bucharest National School for Political and Administrative Studies (2005-2007). In 2012, she was awarded a Ph.D. in finance by the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies.
