Following the elections in the Slovak Republic, Mr Ivan Mikloš has been appointed Minister of Finance, succeeding Mr Ján Počiatek, and also becomes EIB Governor for the Slovak Republic.
Born in 1960 in Svidník, Mr Mikloš, previously served as Member of the Slovakian Parliament from 2006 to 2010.
He already served as Slovak Minister of Finance from 2002 to 2006 and from 1998 to 2002 he was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Affairs.
From 1992 to 1998, he was Executive Director and President of the MESA 10 economic think-tank and in the period 1991-1992, he held the post of Minister for Administration and Privatisation of National Property.
He graduated in 1983 from the University of Economics in Bratislava where from 1983 to 1990 he held the post of Assistant Professor.
