Vice-President of the EIB
On the basis of a nomination from the Republic of Finland, by common accord with the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Austria and the Kingdom of Sweden, the Board of Directors decided on 17 June 2015 to submit the candidature of Mr Jan Vapaavuori to the Board of Governors for the post of Vice-President and Member of the Management Committee, to succeed Mr Wilhelm Molterer, who has tendered his resignation with effect from 1st September 2015.
The written procedure inviting the Board of Governors to vote on this proposal was launched on 25 June 2015.
The decision to appoint Mr Jan Vapaavuori was taken on 9 July 2015, the date on which the requisite majority of votes was reached. Mr Jan Vapaavuori has therefore been appointed as Vice-President and Member of the Management Committee, taking up his post with effect from 1st September 2015.
The Board of Governors also conferred the title of Honorary Vice-President on Mr Wilhelm Molterer.
