Following Parliamentary elections in the Slovak Republic, Mr Peter Kažimír was appointed as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. He also becomes EIB Governor for the Slovak Republic.
Prior to his appointment, from 2010 to 2012 Mr Kažimír was a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and Vice-Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee. From 2006 to 2010, he was State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Nuclear Fund.
Mr Kažimír served as a member of the Board of Directors of the joint-stock companies VIVANT and PARTA-GAS. He was also a member of the Supervisory Boards of DDP Credit Suisse Life and Pensions and of the joint-stock company Sceptrum.
Mr Kažimír studied Foreign Trade Economics at the University of Economics in Brastislava.
