African Infrastructure Investment Fund 4 (“AIIF4”) is a target USD 500m fund investing into sustainable infrastructure in Africa. The Fund targets equity investments in the digitisation, energy transition and mobility & logistics sectors. The Fund is managed by African Infrastructure Investment Managers (“AIIM”), a dedicated African infrastructure manager established in 2000 with USD 3.6bn in capital raised for African infrastructure funds and mandates over the last two decades.
The fund will invest in value-add infrastructure companies in regions and sectors throughout the continent where there is expected to be a significant demand for these assets with a focus on the ability to generate sustainable and predictable cash flows over the long term. The strategy is underpinned by a carbon reduction framework whereby AIIM seeks to implement specific climate finance targets to reduce the carbon intensity of its portfolio companies.
AIIM has a fully integrated ESG function and an explicit impact management framework which seeks to deliver and measure impact across the investments through a Theory of Change methodology.
AIIM’s team of 40+ investment professionals are based out of offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Lagos, Nairobi and Abidjan.
