Description
The EIB Group supports the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) as a leading framework to disclose climate-related information to end investors. This is the fourth TCFD report published by the Group, presenting our current activities and future commitments in the climate field. It follows the TCFD’s four-pillar structure and provides a comprehensive understanding of how the EIB Group assesses and manages climate-related risks and opportunities. This report should be read in conjunction with the EIB Group’s 2023 Sustainability Report, which details the EIB Group’s broader approach to sustainability, including climate considerations. The report also contains the EIB’s externally audited green finance figures and carbon footprint data for projects in 2023. The TCFD should also be read with the EIB Group 2023 Climate Bank Roadmap Progress Report, which looks at its annual progress in the delivery of the EIB Group Climate Bank Roadmap, and the Climate Bank Roadmap mid-term review, which shows that the Group has met its commitment to align new operations with the Paris Agreement, with green financing exceeding 50% ahead of schedule and a clear trajectory to support €1 trillion of green investment by 2030.
