Description
Home to more than half of the global population, urban areas bear the brunt of extreme weather events, rising sea levels and resource scarcity. Simultaneously, they harbour immense potential for transformative action. Launched in September 2020, the City Climate Finance Gap Fund aims to help cities in low and middle-income countries plan, prioritise and deliver projects focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation. The third Gap Fund annual report provides an overview of the activities carried out in 2023, including the descriptions of the projects approved for support as well as the completed technical assistance assignments and the current status of the Gap Fund portfolios.
