Description
The EU treaties entrust the EIB with supporting the reduction of regional disparities in the Union, notably by financing projects in less-developed regions. This evaluation assessed the relevance and impact of EIB financing. EIB support addressed clients’ needs, and is estimated to have a positive impact on these regions’ economic development. Recommendations highlighted the need for more explicit strategic orientations and for strengthened reporting systems.
