Do you know what happens to your old clothes? If they are thrown away, they often end up in landfill or worse - they are burned, polluting our air and oceans. Buying new clothes produces more waste, uses more chemicals and consumes natural resources. But how can we change this? Discover Swedish company Renewcell. Backed by the European Investment Bank and the European Commission, Renewcell is trying to make a difference by recycling used textiles from worn out clothes.
After years of advanced research and development, Renewcells patented technology can recycle old clothing into a pulp, called Circulose, from which a 100% recycled new fabric can be made. The plant that Renewcell is building with backing from the EIB and the European Commission will produce 60 000 tonnes of this recycled material every year.
Together we can make fashion sustainable!
