Web Summit is the world’s largest annual technology conference that brings together the people and companies redefining the global tech industry.

The EIB Group, composed of the European Investment Bank and the European Investment Fund, which focuses on small businesses, is a leading supporter of start-ups and the digital economy and one of the largest providers of finance for innovation in Europe.

This year the EIB Group, EIB Institute and the European Innovation Council (EIC) teamed up to bring the EU innovative spirit at Web Summit.

    A fireside chat with SIT alumni SkillLab (Christoph Bretgeld, Co-founder) and VEMOtion (Maximilian Bohrer, Business Development and Finance), moderated by Michiel Scheffer - President of the Board of the European Innovation Council. The chat focused on AI solutions. SkillLab uses AI for personalised career guidance while VEMOtion an AI-driven ICU robotic system.

Digitalisation in Europe 2022-2023: Evidence from the EIB Investment Survey

The European Union is closing the digitalisation gap with the United States. More than half of European firms responded to the pandemic by investing in digitalisation, and they are rapidly catching up with their US peers in implementing advanced digital technologies. Despite this, Europe is not well-positioned in digital innovation, and it is at risk of developing dependencies in several critical technologies.
