Most people in Cyprus recognise the need to adapt their lifestyle due to the effects of climate change, according to the annual Climate Survey commissioned by the European Investment Bank (EIB). Among the challenges facing their country, Cypriot respondents ranked climate change third, after the cost of living and large-scale migration. Many believe that investing in adaptation now prevent higher costs in the future.

Nearly nine in ten Greek respondents recognise the need to adapt their lifestyle due to the effects of climate change, according to the annual Climate Survey commissioned by the European Investment Bank (EIB). Among the challenges facing Greece, respondents ranked climate change second only to the cost of living. Many believe that investing in adaptation now will not only boost the economy, but will also prevent higher costs in the future.

La Banque européenne d’investissement (BEI) conseillera la Grèce sur son vaste projet de modernisation du réseau ferroviaire national afin d’en améliorer la sécurité, la ponctualité et la durabilité. Dans le cadre de l’accord conclu avec le ministère grec des transports et des infrastructures, la BEI aidera les autorités à élaborer un plan d’activité à long terme pour une société de gestion des infrastructures ferroviaires nouvellement créée et à définir les investissements à court terme dans le réseau.
