In May 2017, Mr Ivan PILNÝ was appointed as Minister of Finance. He also becomes EIB Governor for the Czech Republic, succeeding Mr Andrej BABIŠ.
Mr PILNÝ has served as Member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, as Chairperson of the Committee on Economic Affairs and as Member of the Committee on European Affairs since 2013.
Mr PILNÝ has also held the position of President of Tuesday Business Network since 2005 From 2001 to 2002, he worked as Director General of eTel and between 2000 and 2001 as Chairperson of the Board of Český Telecom.
Mr PILNÝ served as President of the Association for Information Society (SPIS) between 1997 and 1998 and from 1992 to 1998, he was CEO in Microsoft Czech and Slovak Republic. He has also worked as an entrepreneur and held various expert and management positions in IT companies.
Mr PILNÝ graduated from the Czech Technical University in Prague, with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
