The EIB Complaints Mechanism serves as the EIB’s public accountability tool, ensuring that people’s voices are heard. It helps the EIB Group to remain accountable for its actions and the projects it supports inside and outside the European Union. The EIB Group is committed to enhancing its accountability and maximising the impact of its activities and projects.
In 2023, the EIB Complaints Mechanism handled 104 cases and closed 60 of them (including cases in Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina and India). Our Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of our efforts to address concerns raised by the people affected by EIB-financed projects. Through this process, we aim to improve good administration and achieve better results on the ground.
