This Mid-Cap Guarantee (MCG) operation will be set-up as a risk sharing instrument under the new Horizon 2020 financial instrument (ex-RSFF). The operation will be used to provide a 50% credit risk protection on a loan-by-loan basis to Commerzbank (COBA). The guaranteed loans will be granted by COBA to innovative Mid-caps having eligible expenditures. The purpose of the operation is to increase COBA’s capacity to lend to innovative Mid-caps, thanks to the capital released on the guaranteed loans.
