Summary sheet
Construction and operation of a dual-fired greenfield power generating plant, which consists of a base load Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) unit of 750 MWe some 25 km south of Damascus.
The project aims at the cost-effective supply of electricity, both in terms of a growing demand and re-establishing security of supply. In addition, the combined cycle gas turbine technology will contribute to lowering emisions of greenhouse gases and air polluants per unit of electricity generated.
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is currently being prepared for the project. The project is expected to comply with both national standards and international recommendations in the field of environment. Due to its technology, the project is expected to provide electricity with low environmental impact.
International procurement, in line with EIB guidelines.
