Leapfrog Investments Ltd, incorporated in Mauritius
A limited-life microfinance fund with an objective to achieve long-term capital appreciation through equity and equity-investments in companies that deliver insurance products and services to low-income people in developing countries.
The Fund will primarily target investments into companies that provide microinsurance products and services to low-income people, with a primary focus on sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. The emphasis of investments will be on companies with the potential to generate a large volume of policies (with low per-policy margins) necessary to drive the profitability and outreach of portfolio companies.
EIB will ensure that the Fund has appropriate Environmental and Social Management Systems in place for the evaluation of its counterparts.
