Loan to finance investments of limited scale, promoted mainly by small and medium-sized private companies.
The loan would promote medium and long-term lending for capital investment contributing mainly to strengthen the productivity and competitiveness of SMEs as well as municipal infrastructure. Some of the projects may contribute to promote the knowledge economy, energy savings or renewable energies, as well as protection of the environment. The blending of part of the EIB funding with other special purpose EIB facilities such as Jessica and Risk Sharing Initiative (the latter in cooperation with the EIF) will be scrutinised during the appraisal and its implementation would be subject i.a. to the approval by the competent decision making bodies.
