Objectives

Subordinated convertible loan for the benefit of a greenfield Tunisian microfinance institution.

The project aims at supporting the activities of Taysir, a newly established microfinance company in Tunisia. The operation will back the development of the local financial sector for the on-lending to micro-projects, and bolster support for the private sector and the development of microenterprises. The investment will contribute to poverty reduction and social inclusion through access to finance for small rural farmers, young unemployed and self-employed.
