Objectives

The project consists of the rehabilitation of a 13.8-km long tram line in Alexandria, Egypt, including grade separating parts of the tracks as well as the purchase of new rolling stock.

This project is foreseen to be part of the Economic Resilience Initiative (ERI) of the Bank aiming at reinforcing the economic resilience in the Southern Neighborhood countries and developing the economic and social infrastructure thus creating sustainable growth and job creation.
