The project, as part of the EIB response to COVID-19 crisis, will supports SMEs and midcaps affected by the pandemic. In detail, the EIB will purchase the mezzanine tranche of a synthetic securitisation of a portfolio of SME loans originated by Santander Bank.
The aim is to facilitate the access to finance of SMEs and midcaps and mitigate the negative economic effects of the Covid-19.
