The project concerns the roll out of the Company's Truck as a Service (TaaS) infrastructure over the period 2023-2026. TaaS is an end-to-end service offering consisting of access to charging infrastructure, maintenance and repair, telematics and fleet management platform, etc.
The aim is contributing to the electrification of the road transport sector, by facilitating electric trucks deployment. The project is in line with the European Commission's comprehensive framework of policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy (December 2020) and the EU Green Deal (November 2021). Additionally, the project contributes to the EIB's objective for Sustainable Transport and Climate Action and hence is in line with the Bank's lending objectives and Transport Lending Policy.
None of the components of the project is listed in the project categories of Annexes I and II of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Directive 2014/52/EU amending the Directive 2011/92/EU on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on environment).
The Borrower has been assessed by the EIB as being a private company and hence not being subject to EU rules on public procurement or concessions.

Complaints mechanism
Any complaint regarding alleged maladministration can be lodged via the EIB Complaints Mechanism. The European Ombudsman acts as an independent external accountability mechanism of the EIB.
