The project consists of the expansion of runway and terminal capacity of Barcelona airport and is part of the Barcelona – El Prat master plan.
Objectives
The project will enable Barcelona airport to accommodate future traffic growth and consolidate its position as a regional and international hub.

Environmental aspects
The promoter is required to respect the regulations imposed by EU directives. In accordance with its normal procedure, the Bank will ensure that appropriate measures have been taken as regards environmental protection.
Procurement
Procurement procedures applied by the promoter are in compliance with EU Directives applicable to public authorities’ procurement, and national legislation. According to information provided by the promoter, all tenders were published in the EU Official Journal.
