Description
Investments in four regional public utility concessions for water supply and wastewater collection and treatment, to be implemented during the period 2006-2011.
Objectives
To improve and expand water supply and wastewater collection and treatment services throughout Portugal according to the national plan, and to meet the relevant EU directives for the sector.

In the order of 50% of project cost.
Total cost (Approximate amount)
EUR 450 million, on a preliminary basis.
Environmental aspects
The upgrading of existing facilities and the construction of new wastewater treatment plants will significantly improve the quality of the receiving waters and mitigate health risks. No significant impact expected due to the type and size of the works.
Procurement
This project follows the procurement procedures required by the national and EU legislation.
