Description
Small and medium scale projects in the fields of energy, environmental protection, infrastructure (incl health, education, social housing), development of a knowledge based economy, industry, services and tourist industry in Romania.
Objectives
The credit line would contribute to the development of term finance in Romania. The credit line would provide long-term funding for eligible projects promoted by SMEs, public sector including municipal projects and leasing projects. It is intended to combine the credit line with grant schemes, subject to their availability.

Environmental aspects
Romania has introduced environmental legislation in view of harmonizing its environmental standards with EU regulations. Within the framework of the credit line, the Borrower will be requested to ensure compliance of the sub-projects with EU directives, as appropriate.
Procurement
National legislation in all areas, including procurement, is being harmonized with EU regulations. Within the framework of the credit line, the Borrower will be requested to ensure compliance of the sub-projects with EU directives, in particular for the award of public sector contracts, as appropriate.
