Financing of French local authorities carrying out urban renewal projects aimed at restructuring sensitive areas (with major social, urban and economic problems).
Objectives
The "Sustainable Urban Renewal and Regeneration" programme forms part of the National Urban Renewal Programme underpinned by the French Government (Prime Minister's decision of 15 December 2008). This programme is consistent with European policy in the fields of urban environment, social cohesion and balanced spatial development. It will focus on local authorities that are steering an environmental course aimed at reducing CO² emissions in order to meet the "20/20/20" targets through the adoption of specific plans.
