Description

The project entails expansion of the promoter’s 3G (UMTS) network. The priority is to develop the current 3G network with HSPA+ technology and to close the existing 3G coverage gap by extending the 3G network coverage.

Environmental aspects

The project does not fall under Annex I or II of EIA directive 85/337/EEC, amended by directives 97/11/EC and 2003/35/EC. Mobile network deployments have limited residual environmental effects. ICNIRP thresholds are considered as appropriate at an international level.

Procurement

According to utility directive 2004/17/EC the Telecom sector is exempt from public procurement procedures due to its competitive nature. Hence the purchasing of the private promoter is not regulated.
