Beschreibung

The project concerns the construction of a new high technology and science park in the city of Ioannina.

Ziele

The high-technology park is part of the regional government's effort to attract companies to Ioannina, as well as strengthen and grow its innovation eco-system. The aim is to bring together students, graduates and researchers from the University of Ioannina and the business community focusing on ICT, where there is the strongest demand.

Umweltaspekte

The project comprises facilities that are not specifically mentioned in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Directive 2011/92/EU (as amended by 2014/52/EU), although the project is covered by EIA's Annex II in relation to urban development. The high-tech and science park will be located in a special protection area belonging to the Natura 2000 network. The EIB's services will verify during appraisal that the environmental permitting procedure has been concluded and the decision from the Competent Authority has been issued. Moreover, the project will include the construction of new buildings, which will comply with Directive 2010/31/EU on the energy performance of buildings.

Auftragsvergabe

The promoter has to ensure that contracts to implement the project will be tendered in line with the applicable EU procurement legislation: Directives 2014/24/EU, 89/665/EEC, as interpreted by the EU Court of Justice, with publication of tender notices in the EU Official Journal, as and where required.
