EIB President Hoyer participated alongside the leaders of the EU institutions, the Heads of State or Government of the 27 EU Member States and the Heads of State or Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, at the Eastern Partnership Summit.
President Hoyer joined the leaders in conveying a strong commitment to work together to support a resilient, inclusive economic recovery and sustainable investment in the Eastern Neighbourhood.
EIB President Werner Hoyer said: “We look forward to the opportunity to further strengthen ties between the European Union and the Eastern Partnership and reinforce EIB’s role as one of the biggest multilateral investors in Eastern Partnership countries. The summit reaffirmed and reinforced the joint commitment to foster stability and cooperation, to pursue necessary reforms, to define common future priorities, and to mobilise resources to meet the major challenges at hand.

Charles Michel, President of the European Council, chaired the meeting. President Michel and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, represented the EU.
