The EIB organised a second round of engagement on the EIB Group’s Climate Bank Roadmap 2021-2025. A first series of 4 webinars were organised in March 2020.
The scope of this second round of engagement was focussed on two key areas of the Climate Bank Roadmap:
- the alignment of new projects to the low greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and climate-resilient development goals of the Paris Agreement; and
- the definitions to be used to track the climate action and environmental sustainability target.
These issues raised particular interest in the first round of stakeholder engagement. They are also critical to ensuring that the EIB Group delivers on its commitment from January 2021 onwards.
The paper outlining the EIB Group’s emerging position on the risks and opportunities in these areas, that will serve as the discussion paper for the event, can be found here. This paper includes a series of supplementary questions, that we look forward to receiving stakeholders’ feedback on until 9 July.
