On 25 and 26 April 2013, the EIB hosted the Institute of International Finance Spring 2013 Economic Advisory Committee (EAC) at its premises in Luxembourg. The event was an exceptional occasion to invite 70 of the most influential economists and country risk officers from IIF member firms around the world to the EIB. The EIB President, Werner Hoyer, welcomed the participants with an enlightening speech focusing on the steps taken by Europe in the process of resolving the crisis. The meeting later debated recent unconventional monetary policy measures by G4 central banks as well as risks associated with the eventual unwinding of these measures. In addition, participants shared views and opinions concerning the Euro Area crisis and policy responses. A special session was dedicated to structural reforms in some of the key European economies.
