Further to recent changes within the Romanian government and the resignation of the Minister of Finance, the Minister Delegate for Budget since December 2012, Mr Liviu Voinea, has been appointed EIB Governor for Romania.
From May to December 2012, Mr Voinea served as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Finance.
Mr Liviu Voinea has been a Professor at the Faculty of International Business and Economics in Bucharest since October 2009 and since January 2007 he has been the Executive Director of the Group of Applied Economics, which he co-founded in October 2004 in Bucharest.
Since October 2004, Mr Voinea has also been an Associate Professor at the National School for Political and Administrative Studies in Bucharest.
Between May and September 2004, Mr Voinea worked as a researcher at the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies of the European Commission’s Joint Research Center in Seville.
He is also a columnist and has published several books in the field of economics.
Mr Voinea was born in 1975. He holds an MBA from Stockholm University and a Ph.D. from the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest.
