Pan-European Infrastructure III ("PEIF III") is the third fund in DWS’s flagship PEIF series managed by its infrastructure investment business. The Fund aims to capitalise on the experience, expertise and successful track record of the Investment Team, which comprises 25 investment professionals with diverse investment, asset management, industry and cultural backgrounds. The team has developed a detailed and comprehensive proprietary infrastructure equity investment process, encompassing the full asset lifecycle, from origination to realisation. This promotes a strong investor focus and helps maintain clear alignment between the Investment Team and its investors.
The Fund seeks to provide Investors with attractive investment returns comprising stable annual cash income and capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of infrastructure assets and businesses, primarily in Europe.
The Fund’s focus is mature infrastructure assets in Europe. In terms of sectors, the Fund focuses predominantly on transportation, power, utilities and digital infrastructure. It may also invest in specialist sectors, such as social infrastructure, logistics networks and/or specialist equipment leasing.
DWS has a distinctive investment strategy for its PEIF series funds, which has four pillars:

  1. European infrastructure: A focus on Europe. Europe is the world’s most mature infrastructure market, and its strong economy and solid legal and regulatory framework are producing a strong pipeline of investment opportunities.
  2. Mid-cap market: A focus on mid-cap transactions. The Investment Team has a long-standing track-record in mid-cap infrastructure and believes it offers the most attractive opportunities both in terms of risk return profile as well as the breadth and diversity of the opportunity set.
  3. Origination: The Fund will focus on proprietary transactions or situations where the Investment Team's experience, industry knowledge and network of relationships provide a clear competitive angle and/or the potential to generate superior returns for the Fund.
  4. Value-add asset management: Delivering targeted performance through value-add asset management. DWS Infrastructure’s track record is evidence that active asset management is essential to preserve the value of an investment, grow its value and deliver long-term stable returns.

The DWS infrastructure business is part of the DWS Group, a global asset manager with €880 billion in assets under management (as of Q3 2021) and an offering that spans traditional active and passive strategies, as well as alternatives and bespoke solutions. DWS was one of the first signatories of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment in 2008. The infrastructure business is equally committed to ESG considerations and is an active participant in industry ESG initiatives, including GRESB.
