    Description
    Objectives

    The project concerns modernisation and expansion of the production capacity of the cement works, located in Tunis, of CAT, a company privatised in May 2000 and belonging to the Italian Group Colacem Spa, Gruppo financo.

    Upgrading production facilities, improving efficiency and safeguarding the environment.

    Procurement

    The plant will be developed in keeping with Tunisian standards, reducing water and energy consumption and emission of major pollutants such as toxic dust by installing filters; the project will enhance the plant's characteristics and bring it into line with the standards currently in force in the EU and Tunisia.

    Procurement rules for private-sector projects will be applied.
